Why can’t I apply several American travel credits to my booking online?
The number of credits you can use depends on the instrument. An online Flight Credit transaction has a different limit from Trip Credit. Identify the credits before troubleshooting the website; repeatedly entering an otherwise valid number will not overcome a product restriction.
What this answer depends on
- American online redemption; distinguish Trip Credit from Flight Credit and existing ticket value.
- American permits up to eight Trip Credits for up to nine passengers on aa.com; larger combinations require Reservations.
- Only one Flight Credit can be redeemed online; contact Reservations when more than one needs to be considered.
- Trip Credit cannot be combined with the value of an existing ticket.
Important exceptions
- The referral to Reservations does not mean every mixture of credit types is permitted. Account-specific restrictions and passenger ownership still apply. Do not split or duplicate bookings solely to force an unsupported credit combination without understanding the resulting tickets.
