Expedia seat assignments: what the booking confirmation does and does not promise
Use the booking confirmation as a record of what was requested or purchased, then review the airline’s current assignment for the relevant flight. Where Expedia offers an optional extra for purchase, the displayed price is added after you select it. Other optional airline charges remain subject to the airline’s rules. Keep the receipt for a seat purchase so it is not confused with an unpaid preference or an included fare benefit. Check the operator as well as the flight seller: Expedia displays the operating airline when it differs from the airline with which the flight was booked. Its terms do not replace the airline’s transport conditions. If the assignment is missing or different, identify the traveler, flight, and previous payment before asking Expedia and the airline to resolve the discrepancy; do not assume a second purchase is automatically required.
