EVA Air lists Preferred, Standard, and Extra Legroom as separate seat categories. A fare that includes Standard selection should not be presented as automatically including Preferred or Extra Legroom.

EVA Air Preferred seats are not the same as Standard selection

Compare the product label and actual price before buying a forward or otherwise preferred location. For Standard selection, EVA describes advance inclusion with Up and Standard fare families and advance fees for Basic or Discount. Complimentary Standard selection at online check-in depends on availability. Prices are described per passenger and per flight sector, so review each relevant leg rather than assuming one purchase covers the trip. EVA warns that only part of a cabin may be offered for advance online selection; an unavailable map does not prove that every seat is sold. The described advance service is for eligible EVA or UNI international flights and excludes codeshare and charter services. For a paid-seat change, check EVA’s specific conditions rather than assuming a different Preferred seat can be selected at no cost.
