Air New Zealand seatselect: choosing before departure

It applies to Air New Zealand-operated flights and depends on availability. If you do not choose in advance, Air New Zealand assigns a seat at check-in. The fare affects whether Standard selection is included. Paid seatselect remains available until three hours before an international departure or 30 minutes before a domestic departure. These are seatselect deadlines, not permission to arrive at the airport that late or a substitute for the flight’s check-in instructions. When changing a paid selection, a higher-value seat costs the difference; choosing a lower-value seat does not generate a refund. Check the flight operator, seat type, and amount before confirming. For an itinerary with another airline, do not apply Air New Zealand’s seatselect deadline or pricing rule to that other operator’s cabin.
