Can parts of my AC Wallet balance expire at different times?
Read the individual wallet entries rather than treating the total as one credit with one deadline. Air Canada distinguishes expiring value from creditable taxes and third-party charges that do not expire. Travel may occur after an applicable credit’s expiry if the credit is used in time, but closing the Aeroplan account can forfeit the remaining funds.
What this answer depends on
- Existing AC Wallet credits, with voluntary-ticket credit separated from any disruption-compensation credit.
- AC Wallet credit must be used before its stated expiration unless it is identified as non-expiring; travel can take place afterward.
- Creditable taxes and third-party fees and charges do not expire under the wallet terms.
- All remaining wallet funds are forfeited if the associated Aeroplan account is closed.
Important exceptions
- The source does not supply the exact composition of your balance or promise an extension. A non-expiring component is still subject to the account and redemption terms. Disruption-compensation credits have their own basis and are not analyzed as voluntary fare refunds here.

Does non-expiring mean the balance survives closing Aeroplan?
