KLM seat charges: what changes with a Light ticket

A price attached to one available seat is not automatically the cost of every alternative. Most KLM tickets permit a regular seat to be selected without a fee at check-in. Light is different: if you have not purchased a seat, KLM assigns one at check-in, and you must pay to change that assignment. Free assignment is not the same as free selection of another seat. When comparing options, decide whether accepting the assigned seat meets your needs or whether choosing a different location is worth the displayed cost. Review the traveler and flight before approving payment. For an earlier seat purchase, check the purchase conditions separately; this price guide does not establish a universal refund or credit when you move again.
