Changing a flight after check-in: do not confuse it with changing a seat

That is a flight-change process, not merely a request for another seat. EVA also describes canceling online check-in before a late booking change within its stated check-in period, followed by checking in again after the change. These examples show why the next step depends on the carrier and transaction; they do not prove that every airline or fare permits the change you want. Before undoing check-in, review the flight-change options and any fare conditions shown for your booking. Ask how checked baggage or an imminent departure affects the request when those factors apply. After a successful change, complete the required check-in for the revised flight and use the newly issued travel information rather than relying on the old itinerary.

What to do next

  1. Check-in does not create one universal rule for flight changes.

  2. Ask how checked baggage or an imminent departure affects the request when those factors apply.

  3. Review Checking in: frequently asked questions from Singapore Airlines and verify the current page before completing this task.

  4. Review Introduction of Manage Your Trip from EVA Air and verify the current page before completing this task.
