Can I still choose or buy a Turkish Airlines seat after printing my boarding pass?

Turkish Airlines says paid and free seat selection are unavailable after the boarding pass has been printed. Review the seat before that step. The included selection also depends on the fare package and domestic or international journey: for example, EcoFly uses random allocation unless you buy a selection, while the published ExtraFly conditions differ between domestic and international travel.

What this answer depends on

  • Turkish Airlines check-in and seat-choice rules for its published fare packages; not partner-operated flight entitlements
  • Choosing a seat and producing the pass are separate decisions in Turkish’s guidance. If the seat matters, inspect the assignment while the selection function remains available. After printing, do not assume restarting online check-in will reopen the option; ask the airline what is possible for the particular record.
  • A package name alone is insufficient. Turkish describes standard-seat inclusion for domestic ExtraFly but random allocation and paid choice for international ExtraFly. EcoFly is also presented with random allocation and a paid selection option. That distinction is more useful than a single blanket statement that seat selection is either always free or always paid.
  • Turkish Airlines states that neither paid nor free seat selection is available after the boarding pass is printed.
  • Turkish describes domestic ExtraFly standard-seat inclusion but international ExtraFly random allocation with paid selection.
  • Turkish describes EcoFly random assignment with a paid seat-selection option.

Important exceptions

  • The source’s timing statements include airport-specific exceptions; no universal selection deadline is substituted here. Exact fees, specific seat availability and post-print changes remain ticket-specific. Cabin upgrades are a different process.

What to do next

  1. Open the booking and identify the actual fare package and domestic/international sector.

  2. Review the seat assignment and available categories before printing the pass.

  3. Check the amount and eligibility displayed for the intended seat; do not reuse a price or rule from a different sector.

  4. After printing, contact the airline about an unresolved selection instead of assuming the online choice remains open.

  5. Have the fare package, route, selected seat, booking locator and whether the boarding pass has already been printed.

More booking questions

Does ExtraFly include the same selection on domestic and international flights?

No. The published check-in guidance describes different seat-selection treatment for those two journey types.
