Can I recover KrisFlyer miles after flying part of an award ticket?
Singapore Airlines does not refund miles for a partially used award ticket under its cancellation FAQ. Do not assume the unused return represents a refundable half of the miles. Ask separately about eligible unused taxes and make sure the remaining reservation is handled correctly rather than simply failing to appear.
What this answer depends on
- A partially used Singapore Airlines award or redemption ticket; voluntary decision not to use the remaining itinerary.
- The cancellation FAQ says miles from a partially used award ticket cannot be refunded.
- The same FAQ distinguishes the refund of applicable taxes from the return of miles.
- Ordinary redeposit requires valid miles and a valid ticket that is completely unused, including the stated Saver, Advantage and Access categories.
Important exceptions
- A wholly unused separate award ticket is not automatically the same as an unused segment of a partially used ticket. This page does not cover airline-caused disruptions or an award issued by another loyalty program. The exact ticket structure must be confirmed before applying the rule.
More booking questions
Does an unused return always mean half the miles come back?
No. The published rule turns on whether the award ticket is partially used.
