Where do I complete international departure controls after a domestic arrival at Narita?
Narita places the international departure process in the terminal used by the onward international flight. Transfer there through the applicable public-area route, complete remaining airline check-in, then undergo international security and departure immigration. The domestic flight’s earlier screening does not complete the international departure checks.
What this answer depends on
- Narita Japan-domestic arrival connecting to an international departure; not an arrival-entry procedure
- This is the reverse of an international arrival connecting domestically. Narita’s domestic-to-international guide places immigration in the international departure terminal. Identify that terminal from current flight information, then follow the transfer directions rather than searching the domestic arrival area for the final departure control.
- A pass already issued for the onward flight may resolve a boarding-document task, but it does not remove the airport’s international security process. Check whether any counter verification remains and then complete the relevant controls. Do not interpret “checked in at the origin” as “all international departure steps complete.”
- Narita places international departure immigration in the onward international departure terminal.
- Narita describes public-area transfer, remaining international check-in and international security for this connection.
Important exceptions
- No permanent airline terminal table, bus frequency, exact transfer allowance or onward-entry guarantee is provided. Destination document requirements must be checked separately. This does not establish protection for separately booked flights.
