Should I use Skylink or Terminal Link to change terminals at DFW?
DFW places Skylink inside security and Terminal Link outside security. If you are already within the departure-side system, follow the Skylink transfer directions rather than taking an arrivals exit just to change terminals. If you are on the public side, Terminal Link serves a different part of the journey. Confirm which side you are on before choosing transport.
What this answer depends on
- DFW interterminal transport, not international customs processing or a flight’s live terminal assignment
- Skylink and Terminal Link are not two interchangeable names for the same service. DFW’s guide distinguishes the secure-side train from the public-side terminal connection. The choice therefore begins with your processing status, not the airline logo on a shuttle or a remembered terminal.
- This article does not determine the customs route for an international arrival. Follow the actual arrival instructions first. Once your location relative to security is clear, use the airport’s current interterminal directions and confirm the onward flight on the live display. A transport map alone does not prove that required inspections are complete.
- DFW identifies Skylink as the free interterminal train inside security.
- DFW identifies Terminal Link as the outside-security interterminal service.
Important exceptions
- No bus stop, train frequency, total transfer time, customs bypass or current airline terminal allocation is supplied. A public-side journey may require departure screening before gate access.
