WestJet family seats: check the arrangement for each child’s age

Enter each child’s date of birth when booking. If seats were not selected, WestJet automatically assigns family seats without extra charge on a new booking or flight change, whenever possible.

Important unknowns

  • The source does not establish the outcome of an individual request. Confirm current instructions with the airline; the effective date of these provisions is not established.

What to do next

  1. Identify the account

Children under five sit adjacent to their parent or guardian. Ages 5–11 sit in the same row, no more than one seat away from their parent or guardian. Ages 12–13 sit within one row of their parent or guardian.

  2. Use the official recovery route

Check each child’s and accompanying adult’s assignments on every flight. Use the child’s age group when explaining any unresolved placement to WestJet.

  3. Keep your request focused

Before buying a different selection, ask about the specific arrangement. The published positions do not promise a freely chosen seat or an adjacent group for the whole family.
