Can I manage or change this United Airlines booking online?

United must retrieve the exact reservation before showing what can be changed. Saving a booking made elsewhere to My Trips does not prove United controls it, and Basic Economy does not share one change rule with standard cabin tickets.

Important exceptions

  • Compare direct versus agency issued before choosing the change path.
  • Compare voluntary versus airline initiated before choosing the change path.
  • Compare basic economy versus standard before choosing the change path.

Important unknowns

  • Confirm where the booking was purchased.
  • Confirm which airline or seller issued the ticket.

What to do next

  1. Retrieve the exact booking

Open the current United Airlines reservation with the exact booking reference and passenger details, then use only the actions shown for that record.

  2. Confirm who controls the ticket

Use the receipt and ticket number to identify the seller and issuer before choosing an airline or agency change channel.

  3. Review the final price before submitting

Review the replacement fare, each fee and any tax adjustment in the final screen, then save the total before submitting payment.
