Korean Air assisted international changes: separate the handling charge

When a Service Center, branch or airport quotes an international flight change, ask it to identify ticket handling separately. Korean Air generally charges for assisted purchases or changes, but exempts reissued tickets for international flight changes from the handling charge.

Important unknowns

  • The source does not establish the outcome of an individual request. Confirm current instructions with the airline; the effective date of these provisions is not established.

What to do next

  1. Identify the account

Check that the proposed transaction is an international flight-change reissue before relying on this exemption. It does not establish a waiver of a fare difference, award reissue charge or other ticket condition.

  2. Use the official recovery route

Already paid a handling charge? Korean Air lists that charge as nonrefundable. Keep its receipt separate when checking any later ticket-refund calculation.
