Delta Companion Certificate: does Platinum or Reserve cover your cabin?

For an already-held certificate and new roundtrip within the contiguous United States: Platinum/Platinum Business covers Delta Main L/U/T/X/V. Reserve/Reserve Business adds Comfort W/S when eligible Main inventory exists, Premium Select A/G and First I/Z. Delta One and Basic experiences are excluded.

Important unknowns

  • The source does not establish the outcome of an individual request. Confirm current instructions with the airline; the effective date of these provisions is not established.

What to do next

  1. Identify the account

The primary holder redeems the nontransferable certificate. Book both travelers together in the same reservation, cabin, flights and dates, with eligible Delta/Connection operation. Pay with the corresponding card and/or traveler-name-matched eCredits; book and fully fly by expiry. Availability, certificate terms, and primary-fare advance-purchase and stay rules apply. No other discounts, stopovers, open jaws or circle trips.

  2. Use the official recovery route

Start by identifying the certificate you actually have. Keep its terms beside the proposed itinerary, rather than making the cabin choice from a general description of a card. This is a comparison of instruments already held, not a recommendation to obtain another product.

  3. Keep your request focused

Ask Delta to check the complete proposed pair and explain the relevant fare class for each flight. Record the answer beside the cabin you wanted. If the proposal differs from your plan, decide whether that offered trip meets both travelers' needs before proceeding.

  4. Check the result

Review the actual money due separately and request an explanation for any unclear component. Keep the certificate details, quoted itinerary and accepted ticket confirmations together. A later question can then identify the precise flight, traveler or payment that differs.

  5. Scope and limitations

Ask separately about later upgrades or cancellation; this guide establishes neither.
