Can a Delta Reserve Companion Certificate book two other travelers?

The primary cardholder must redeem their renewed Delta Reserve or Reserve Business Companion Certificate but need not be either traveler. It is nontransferable, cannot be sold/bartered and covers new purchases only.

Important unknowns

  • The source does not establish the outcome of an individual request. Confirm current instructions with the airline; the effective date of these provisions is not established.

What to do next

  1. Identify the account

Book both passengers simultaneously in the same reservation, cabin, flights and dates. Pay with the Reserve/Reserve Business card and/or traveler-name-matched eCredits; book and fully fly by certificate expiry. Eligible routes, fare classes, availability, primary-fare advance/stay rules, taxes and bags still control. No stopovers, open jaws, circle trips or other offers/discounts.

  2. Use the official recovery route

First identify the certificate in the holder’s account and the two people intended to travel. Have both review their passenger details and proposed itinerary. Keep the person redeeming the certificate separate from the passenger names in your planning note.

  3. Keep your request focused

Next ask Delta to assess the complete proposed pair. State the flights, dates, intended cabin and payment instruments, and request the actual conditions and total. The ownership rule alone does not establish that this particular trip qualifies.

  4. Check the result

Compare the resulting proposal with what both people want. Check the primary ticket, companion ticket and money due together before authorizing the transaction. Resolve an unexplained component while the exact offer is available for discussion.

  5. Scope and limitations

Retain the certificate details, accepted quote and both issued-ticket confirmations. If something differs from the agreed plan, identify the affected person, flight or payment component when asking for review.
