A SAS Go Light flight posts as class O in SkyMiles: check the product before alleging an error

A different letter in the activity record is not automatically evidence that the ticket was credited incorrectly.

Important unknowns

  • The source does not establish the outcome of an individual request. Confirm current instructions with the airline; the effective date of these provisions is not established.

What to do next

  1. Identify the account

For SAS-marketed flights operated by a SkyTeam member other than Delta, flown on or after September 1, 2024, Delta says all purchased Go Light fare classes appear as SAS class O in SkyMiles. That Go Light row lists redeemable miles at 10% of Delta-calculated distance. Unlisted classes and Award Travel earn no miles. SAS-marketed flights operated by Delta have a separate table.

  2. Use the official recovery route

The 10% row is not an MQD rule, and the O label does not prove every credited amount is correct.

  3. Keep your request focused

For a reconciliation, preserve four separate entries: the purchased product name, purchased fare-class letter, letter shown in SkyMiles and amount posted. Copy each from its own record. Do not change an entry to what you think the answer should be before comparing the documents.

  4. Check the result

Next, retain the actual travel date, full flight number and operating airline with those entries. Find the table whose scope matches the journey, then read the product row and footnotes together. If a necessary detail is unavailable, ask for that detail rather than treating the account label alone as the explanation.

  5. Scope and limitations

Frame an enquiry around the unresolved difference. For example, identify the ticket’s product wording and ask which row Delta applied to the flown segment. This gives the reviewer a specific comparison to make without demanding a correction based only on a letter mismatch. Keep the response and any reference with your original record.

  6. Practical check 6

If the explanation resolves the label but leaves the amount unclear, state that remaining question separately. If an activity entry is missing altogether, use the existing missing-credit guidance for timing and submission rather than treating this label explanation as a new deadline. This guide does not calculate your trip’s credit, promise a correction or extend the mapping to another fare, operator or travel period.
